Troy High School's Swim Team Secures Victory as 2023 Freeway League Champions

The student-athletes of Troy High School's Swim Team emerged victorious once again, clinching the title of 2023 Freeway League Champions for another year. Hosted at Troy, the Freeway League prelims and finals saw intense competition from Sunny Hills, Sonora, Fullerton, and Buena Park high schools, with Troy's swimmers showcasing their exceptional talent and determination throughout the tournament.

For two full days, over 600 student-athletes from the participating schools vied for coveted spots on the CIF-Team, aiming for qualification in the CIF-SS Ford Championship and the CIF State Championship. Led by their dedicated coaching staff and fueled by unwavering team spirit, Troy's Warriors delivered outstanding performances, securing numerous spots on the CIF-Team and earning accolades as Freeway League Champions.

Highlighting the team's exceptional achievements were record-breaking performances by Troy's own Luke Leon Guerrero, Ty Leon Guerrero, Theo Sohn, Kevin Yum, and Tony Zheng. These talented athletes shattered two league records during the final 200 Free Relay and 400 Free Relay events, showcasing the depth of talent and dedication within the Troy High School Swim Team.

"We are incredibly proud of our student-athletes for their outstanding performances and relentless determination throughout the Freeway League Championship," said Coach Driessen, Head Coach of the Troy High School Swim Team. "Their hard work and commitment have once again propelled us to victory, and we look forward to continuing our success in the upcoming CIF competitions."

In addition to the athletes' achievements, special recognition is extended to Jacob Pan, a talented photographer and Sophomore at Troy High School, who generously provided tournament photos. Jacob's contributions have been invaluable in capturing the essence of the team's journey and accomplishments.
